The pants are worked top-down. First, a waistband is knitted in rib. Then short rows are worked to raise the back before continuing in the round in stockinette stitch and establishing the heart pattern. A gusset is worked next, after which the legs are knitted separately. The stitches at the legs are bound off, before stitches are picked up for the ruffle. CC 1 is the main color, and CC 2 is used for the hearts.
