Inez Mittens are worked from the cuff, with stockinette stitch on the back and a textured pattern on the front. Stitches for the thumb are placed on a contrasting thread then picked up later, to then be knitted in the round. The mittens are one size, with a width of approximately 10 cm, but due to the textured pattern, they are stretchy and fit both narrower and wider hands. You can adjust the length based on the size of the hand. If you are knitting the mittens as a gift and are unsure of the length, 18-20 cm is a typical length for a woman’s hand. The decreases at the top measure 3 cm. Measure the mitten as you go to know when to start decreasing.
