The sweater is knitted top-down in stockinette stitch. First, the back piece is worked back and forth with increases, forming a trapezoid. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders along the cast-on edge of the back. Each shoulder is worked back and forth separately, using German short rows (GSR) to shape them. Stitches are then increased to shape the neckline. The shoulders are joined to form the front piece, by casting on stitches for the
front neckline. The front is worked back and forth. The front and back pieces are then joined, and the body is knitted in the round and finished with double ribbing. The sleeves are worked by picking up stitches around the armhole. Finally, the neckline is knitted with a facing and double ribbing.
