The Vest is worked top-down in double rib. First you work the neck twice as long, and knit it together, then the vest is worked with a longer back with the technique German Short Rows. You increase right or left sts in pairs total of 4 times per row. When required sts is reached, you bind-off the shoulder stitches, and the front/back piece are worked separately. When desired length is reached, the pieces are joined together and the rest of the vest is worked in rounds, and lastly you bind-off using italian bind-off for an elastic edge. For a nice finish, you’ll pick up sts to work an i-cord edge around the armholes and zipper. Feel free to make a gauge swatch to make sure the vest will fit nicely. Then knit the flap to hide the zipper, from the resting stitches. This way the zipper will look nice from the wrong side as well as the right side. Finally, sew the zipper by hand.
